One year ago today I wrote my first post Manifesting Your Desires. This last year has been quite the learning experience for me and I have gained so many new friends through the blogging community. So much knowledge has been given to me with the help and comments by so many of you and I would like to say how grateful I am for all of your help. Even though it hasn’t been easy I would like to take some time to share with you the experiences I’ve had at this one year anniversary for Channelingmyself.
Over the course of this past year I have stumbled through many issues with my blog and there have been many times when I wondered why I even bothered to begin with. When I first got the idea for Channelingmyself I pretty much had the blog up an running within a couple of weeks and have been “flying by the seat of my pants” ever since. I didn’t really have a game plan when I first started I just figured I would start writing and make adjustments as needed. I never set any long term or short term goals but just always believed that my blog would see success. And while I haven’t necessarily attracted as many readers as I would have liked over this past year I certainly can’t complain. I have visitors from all over the globe which I think is rather amazing.
If you want to know how I came up with my idea for this blog please take a moment to read the Introduction page to learn where my inspiration came from. I never hired or consulted with anyone to get things started, rather, I did some research and figured things out on my own. Fortunately, I already had some prior knowledge of web hosting and WordPress so it really wasn’t that difficult to get it all up and running. My biggest obstacle has never been on the technical side but what to write to attract readers and keep them coming back for more.
I knew what my main niche would be, however, I have so many areas of interests I didn’t want to limit myself to writing only about the spiritual/metaphysical topics. Bloggers who do their homework will know that writing about the more popular subjects has a better chance of attracting more readers. I’ve always felt that limiting myself or only focusing on the “trendy” topics wouldn’t truly capture the person that I am. Ironically, when I’ve checked the stats on my Google Analytics page the posts dealing with UFOs, Aliens, Ancient Aliens get the most visits but that is one of the areas I’ve posted very little on. I’ve always wanted to remain authentic about what I write and for me that means sharing with you my experiences and opinions. I wish I could publish more posts on the topics of UFOs/Aliens and Bigfoot but until I get some actual first hand experiences I will be limited to sharing my personal beliefs on those topics.
Of course I know what ideas I have for posts but I would like to get suggestions from my readers on what types of posts you most enjoy and what, if any, topics you would like to see more of. If you have ever looked over at the sidebar in the right hand column you will notice a drop down bar for categories. The areas which I personally am passionate about are Metaphysical/Spirituality, Law of Attraction, Food & Nutrition, UFOs/ETs, and the poetry category which was created for my sister to post her poems. You will also notice that there is a Junk Drawer category which encompasses all other area of interests that I may want to post about. If you have a suggestion or any topic you would like to read more about please take a moment to visit the Contact Page and put in your suggestions.
This past year for Channelingmyself has been a period of learning and growth, both for me personally and as a blogger. In the next year I hope to expand the global visibility for my blog and continue to discover new possibilities to some of life’s most puzzling questions. The year 2012 has been a highly controversial year which has seen much attention both from the blogging and entertainment industries. Whether or not the end of 2012 will bring about world wide devastation, an age of enlightenment, or nothing significant at all I hope to continue to gain valuable insight through my writing and discussions with all of you. I would like to think each of you again for taking the time to visit my blog and for taking the time to make comments. I hope you will continue to read and enjoy my posts for this next year of Channelingmyself. If you like my blog please take the time to “Like” my new fan page at the bottom of this post and share with as many friends you think would be interested.
