In my previous post “Good Vibrations” regarding astral projection I wrote of my first experience dealing with an OBE. As of this writing I still have not had any more out-of-body-experiences except for a couple of dreams where I was flying around like superman. Unfortunately, I have many personal issues in my life that I am dealing with leaving me with little time to practice astral projection techniques. Before writing another post I wanted to wait until I had another experience; however, I’ve been doing some research and wanted to share with you some exercises you can practice each day that should help you to have an OBE.
If you read my post “Good Vibrations” I wrote of my body literally vibrating all over at a very high frequency. One of the exercises you can do to try to induce these vibrations is to use your imagination and pretend that your body is vibrating. Next, try to picture your astral body within your physical body vibrating at a higher frequency. While we are on the topic of using your imagination there are several other exercises you can do throughout the day to get you back in those feeling of childhood again.
- Visualize yourself floating away like a balloon.
- Pretend you’re astral body is floating out of your physical body.
- Pretend you can walk out of your physical body and stand next to yourself.
- While laying down, pretend to “pop” out of your body and float above yourself.
- Each time you pretend that you leave your body imagine looking back at yourself.
- While laying down, pretend that you are swaying back and forth like your bed is a giant rocking chair.
The above exercises should get you into that feeling of leaving your body. These can be practiced anytime throughout the day, have fun with them and really use your imagination.
Besides the above imagination exercises there are other things you can do to help increase your chances of having an OBE. There is a transitional state your brain goes through right before you fall asleep. It is the point when your consciousness lets go and your sub-consciousness takes over. This state is known as the Hypnogogic state of sleep. It has often been referred to as a time of visual and audio hallucinations. You may have had many experiences before during this state but never given them any thought. While in this state, I typically receive images or some random idea that I have no idea what it means. On a side note, have a pen and paper nearby and the next time you have one of these messages come through write it down. These may be messages coming through to you from your guides. What you can do for OBE practice is to let yourself come to this state of transition then try to wake yourself back up. It will take plenty of practice to accomplish being able to suspend yourself in this state, but if you are able to do so you will open up amazing possibilities.
The last point I wanted to share with you to help with OBEs is to ask your guides for help. Your guides are here to help you with your journey here in this lifetime. Call on them often and ask for their guidance. You can also call on high level guides to assist you, these guides have more universal knowledge than your personal guides. Don’t be afraid to illicit the help of either kind of guide, your spiritual progression will benefit from their assistance.
